Mike Caruso, Owner
Caruso Construction & Design
San Francisco, CA

In 1979, Mike Caruso began his career as an “old school” carpenters’ apprentice at San Francisco Restoration. Within four years he had worked his way up from apprentice to foreman and ran some of the most prestigious residential restorations in San Francisco.

By 1996 Mike opened his own company – Caruso Construction. He paid his dues by doing all the work himself until too many referrals from too many clients forced him to expand and hire a crew. There is no task that Mike hasn’t performed personally – from demolition to the finest finish work. The standards he set for himself back in 1979 represent the standards he continues to embrace today on all of his projects.

Our Process

To ensure professionalism, accountability and customer satisfaction, we have developed a two-phased approach in working with our clients.

Pre-Construction Phase

During this phase the Caruso Construction team initially takes our clients through a site evaluation. We then put together a general overview of the project, create a budget estimates, provide value engineering advice, and complete a constructability review.

Construction Phase

Once your plans are finalized and all necessary permits have been obtained, you will be assigned a project manager who will draft a timeline for your project and review it with you on a weekly basis. In addition, your project manager will oversee the site crew, manage all sub-contractors, participate in all inspections, and will always be on-hand for any issues that may arise. Through open communication, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving we will reach the common goal of completing the project of utmost value within budget and on time. Upon completion, we conduct a final walk-through with you in order to ensure all necessary final touches are addressed.
